Emerging Talent
Though she didn’t do it for any applause or prizes, Davey’s truly heartwarming series has won multiple awards in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Some of those included wins at the 2014 New York Photo Awards, the Taylor Wessing National Gallery Portrait Prize in London, and the 2014 Lens Culture International Emerging Photographer Award.
Getting Published
Because of the outpour of love and support for the series, Davey decided to publish a photo book of the work. The photographer later partnered with Trolley Books to publish it for the masses. She created a Kickstarter campaign to help with the book’s production and raised almost $20,000. The book was eventually published in 2015.
