  1. Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, Colorado

Infamous as one of the creepiest places in the U.S., this gigantic hotel overlooks Lake Estes. And it has a whopping 142 rooms. Built back in 1909, it served as a retreat for those suffering from respiratory tuberculosis. Also, it was the inspiration for Stephen King’s hit horror novel, The Shining. Today, it is a site of high paranormal activity.

  1. Hoia Baciu Forest, Romania

This ominous forest is straight out of a scary movie. With trees growing in warped shapes and cloaked in fog, it’s no wonder it’s one of the creepiest places. Locals tell stories of ghosts and spirits walking these woods. And, in fact, people call it the “Bermuda Triangle of Romania.”
