Popular Nickelodeon show Double Dare brought kids’ attention to Gak. The toy is a noticeable cross between Smile and Silly Putty. Released in 1992, Gak became a hit with kids looking to shock their friends. Following Gak’s initial success, Nickelodeon delivered different versions of the toy.
Gak-in-the-Dark could glow in the dark while Solar Gak changed color around sunlight.
