The Miscarriage Turned Miracle
Like many women, when 25-year-old Meredith and her long-time boyfriend learned she was pregnant, she was thrilled, according to the TV show I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant.
The pregnancy seemed like a miracle since Meredith was previously diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease, a condition that makes conceiving a child extremely difficult. So you can imagine the devastation when, only two months into her pregnancy, Meredith experienced unusual spotting and, after going to the hospital, was told she miscarried.
Spiraling into a depression, Meredith began drinking and smoking to cope with the loss.
But, lo and behold, seven months later, Meredith found herself on her bedroom floor, with fits of back spasms and pain, giving birth to a baby, shockingly still encased in the amniotic sac.
