During the 90s parents were taught not to show too much affection to the children because that would turn fraudulent. For this reason, there was an expert opinion floating around to put babies in overlarge shows and not to cuddle them too much. These idiotic practices were thankfully abandoned just a little while after they began.
28. No Cuddles! Until 1920
It is but natural to want to kiss and cuddle with babies when you meet them. Babies are probably the cutest things on planet earth. But during the 1920s it was not permissible for people to cuddle or kiss their babies because that too was said to weaken a child’s backbone and to make them softer and less strong. Seriously though, how can you not smother this child’s face with kisses?
