If you have ever taken a vacation or traveled to even a semi touristy area you have probably got a taste of a tourist trap.
Tourist traps are way overcrowded, obnoxiously overpriced and end up not being the greatest experience after all is said and done.
The funny thing is, people, keep going and the tourists keep getting trapped. Some of these locations are worse than others, only a few may be worth seeing despite being a full-on tourist trap.
These are the worst tourist traps in the world.
1. Pyramids of Giza, Cairo
The Pyramids in Egypt are a classic tourist trap. A few thousand tourists go to see the pyramids every day. Unless you have the budget for a helicopter tour or are so inclined to go on a camel tour your only choice is to join the masses.
2. Cancun, Mexico
Cancun, Mexico has some gorgeous white sand beaches with blue water and is packed with hotels lining the beach from one end of the peninsula to the other. There are some other smaller cities to escape to like the coastal town of Tulum, which is a little more than an hour away by car.
