Funk, the Forerunner of Hip-Hop
We wouldn’t have hip-hop without the funk music of the 70s. Some well-known funk artists include James Brown, Ohio Players, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Donny Hathaway. Funk was heavy on the instrumentation, and the grooves were danceable.
