How to Get Toddlers to Eat Healthy Food

All parents know that it can be a hassle to get toddlers to eat healthy meals. In some cases, it can be a challenge to get them to eat anything. Unless it comes off of your plate, of course. Here are a few helpful tricks to get your picky eaters to pick up their fork and dig in! How to Get Toddlers to Eat Healthy Food:

Start Early

By starting the negotiations early, you’ll be able to find out what it is that your child really wants to eat and what may persuade them to eat what you’ve cooked.  This will also give you enough time to fix an alternative dinner that may or may not be eaten.

Be Persistent

Stay positive and keep offering the healthy meal you worked so hard to create for your loving family. Eventually, your child will either decide it isn’t worth fighting over and eat it, or persuade you that ice cream can actually be a healthy alternative. After all, dairy is an important part of a growing child’s diet.

Stay Positive

Dinner may feel like a complete disaster at this point. However, having a positive attitude will help you in the long run. Your toddler will see that dinnertime can be a fun and rewarding experience, as long as they see you enjoying it too! What isn’t enjoyable about convincing them that what you made won’t kill them and that they need to sit down to eat every five minutes?

Getting your toddlers to eat healthy meals is important, but so is your sanity. If they aren’t eating the meal that you made, try again later. Remember to pick your battles. Maybe you can sneak a vegetable into a smoothie or trick them some other way. Or, you can keep in mind that French fries are made out of potatoes and potatoes are actually a vegetable.
