9 Tips from Teachers for Parents Now Homeschooling

7. Always hear both sides of the story

One of my “favorite” parts of teaching is still when a kid comes up to me to tattle on another. You’d be amazed how many times, after questioning the “offender,” the tattling kid started it, did something way worse, or both! Like, did you think I was just going to yell at the other kid without asking any follow-up questions or…???

8. Kids have a weird sense of justice

I explain to the class how important it is to NOT look at other students’ screens while taking the test. Because it is CHEATING. Which is WRONG. And you will get in trouble. Ten minutes later… “OMG he’s changing his computer background!!!” yells a child, leaning over to look at another child’s computer during the test.
