4. March is National Nutrition Month
What a great time to teach your children about all the tasty, nutritious summer fruits and veggies available during the spring and summer months. Now’s the time to teach the importance of healthy eating habits and how it affects their overall energy and mood. You can reinforce nutritional values by having friends and family participate in the following activities:
- Have a fruit and vegetable party by cutting up various brightly colored produce and picking which one you like the best.
- Introduce new foods by talking to your child’s friends, see what they like.
- Fix meals together and share in the preparation. During holidays have your kids help by cutting out special shapes of the foods that offer the best nutritional benefits.
